What: Downtown L.A. is definitely one of L.A.’s up-and-coming neighborhoods. Though some parts are a little sketchy, there are more and more gems cropping up in the area, and you can easily spend an entire day there. Follow this itinerary to and you’ll see why I love this part of Los Angeles. (Oh, just be sure to avoid Skid Row at night…)

Mode(s) of Transportation: walking, car

Price Point: $$

The Itinerary:

Things to Do if You’re in Town at the Right Time:

  • Unique LA (seasonal): shop “Made in America” design, fashion, and art
  • Downtown Art Walk (2nd Thursday of every month): browse art galleries, bar hop, and enjoy delicious food truck bites

Two ways to get up to Angels Knoll:

I’ve only ever taken the stairs, but socalchica recommends spending $0.50 for a ride on the Angel’s Flight. Gotta check that out next time.
